I am going to talk REALLY LONG
so, just hang in there folks. I brought really interesting one.
In Korea, (actually most of Asian countries) celebrities'
plastic surgeries are really huge issues. These days, whether
men or women, surgeries are being a rite of passage for being
a entertainer. Especially for women stars, after their long rest
term, they are being criticized by netizen, because of their
"different faces". Usually stars make excuses by telling
"I just lost weight." or "I just had an orthodontic
treatment." Well, for some of them, excuses might work,
( or it can be true who knows?) BUT, for others, it seems to
excuses just don't work.
What a poor new faces..
For new faces ( this means new star), are they forced to have
surgeries or is that they just want to? Well, for most cases, they
are forced by management companies. They usually say to
trainees who "wanna be a star" that "If you get surgeries for
these parts, I think it will work better." Well, what should
trainees say? "YES!!" or "OH, definitely, I will listen to your
advice."
One management person said that "Well, one trainee "A" got
surgeries on eyes, nose, cheek bones, chin and lips which
costed 2000만원(20,000 dollars) and she waited 3 months
for her swelling to go down. She will have an orthodontic treatment
which costs about 400만원 (4000 dollars)."
Got surgeries? you are going down.
O.K. well, don't think that only new faces get surgeries. Like
I mentioned, some celebrities got surgeries after when they
become popular, even though management people stop them.
The reason is they want to look more perfect and more pretty.
However, after they got surgeries, netizen criticize SO MUCH.
"Gosh, strange. Totally strange." "She screwed ip."
etc. When those opinions keep going, celebrities will hardly get
jobs. There are some celebrities that quit being the entertainer
because their different faces made people say bad things, like
"SCREWED".
It seems that people don't care about trainees getting
surgeries before they actually become entertainers, well,
compared to popular celebrities. It is unforgivable to popular
entertainers.
I think there are so many similar people in the
entertainment world, because they get so many surgeries
to make their faces perfect, so EVERYBODY look perfect,
which means they look similar a lot. This is SO TRUE.
If you don't have interests in the entertainment world,
then you look one entertainer and think other names.
I heard that entertainers have so many pressures.
Young and pretty new faces are coming and they are becoming
old. Which means, it is going to be hard for them to get jobs
unless they are super popular. O.K. So, right here, We can
have a question that even though they know it might ruin
their career but why they don't stop getting surgeries??
Well, It is related to "mental thing". They are keep thinking
that "Oh, I should keep beauty." "Oh my gosh, what am I
doing. I need to get nose jobs than I will be more pretty."
I used to envy those entertainers, because they are
pretty, rich and have many opportunities to date with handsome
actors. BUT, these days, I feel really sorry for them.
They lost their original faces and they feel anxiety and
pressure all the time, also they are controled by the internet.
(Internet is really a scary thing. When it gives
totally wrong rumors. It can kill people.)
Actually it is quite right about people get surgeries
because of TV stars. On TV, there are always pretty, skinny
and handsome people which makes people to get more and
more surgeries to become just like them. Well, I want
you guys not to feel inferior about your appearances.
Don't compare your appearances with TV stars.
Don't you feel sad for them? Feel confident in yourself. You are
ugly? That's fine! If people don't choose you not seeing
your inside and just because you are not pretty, well that's
their loss. Those people are sick. Don't you feel sick while
you read my article's summary??

I've also heard the joke that Korean women look same because they get the same plastic surgery.
ReplyDeleteI always think that people couldn't get rid of complaints about their looks just by makeup instead of getting cosmetic surgery. What do you think?
Well, see Reiko, this problem is kind of dillema.
ReplyDeleteThe reason is that some people also think
putting thick makeup is also kind of FAKE.
Well. getting plastic surgery is also FAKE
and put think makeup is also FAKE.What women should do!!!!??????!!! I don't know. But I think,
when you put make up not really thick and just a
little bit, it can also make people look prettier. I never have put makeup before and
I usually apply Suncream which make your face
whiter somehow. So I think instead of surgeries,
the makeup is better.
One of the questions that has always puzzled me is, "Why do we feel pressure to look a certain way?" For example, why is it undesirable to have short legs or be too hairy? Why is it undesirable to have a really red face or relly thin hair? Who got to decide what beauty is and what it isn't? Or, is there some sort of survival instinct. Fr example, are all those ideas I mentioned earlier indications of bad health? Are we "programmed" in our genes to look for healthy people because they are more likely to produce children?
ReplyDeleteThe interesting thing about all this is that the conception of what beauty is has changed throughout history. A hundred years ago, it was considered more attractive to NOT have a tan, to have the lightest skin possible because it meant you weren't working oustide. It would be interesting to trace the changes in the idea of what's beautiful and what's not.
I think we should not feel inferior like you said about our appearances. Seeing celebrities on Tv and in the daily life are different. On Tv the celebrities look perfect or we expect them to be perfect. What do you think?
