Recently in Korea, there are 3 entertainers who got attention by
their different faces. Let me say those entertainers "A", "B" and "C".
First, "A" became prettier than before. Her face line became
sharper and her eyes got bigger. She said that she exercised so she lost her
weight a lot. Well, it seemed like everybody doesn't believe her.
(But, I believe her, because I really couldn't find the evidence that
she got surgeries and when people lost their weight appropriately,
they become more handsome and prettier. Well, she sure looks more
prettier... but who knows?)
For "B", her face swollen up a little bit,
and some people says that it is because she got a surgery and right now,
she is in the process of her swell to go down.
The last, it is C's story.
Well, she is a singer and her album's photo was so pretty than what
she used to look like, so everybody suspected that she got surgeries.
However, she eventually came out on a show program and said that
she didn't get surgeries and people used computer to make her
photo look good.( Every singer wants their album to be prettier
and look cool. That way, it will attract people more.) Everybody
agreed that she was right, because she looked exact same.
However, surprisingly, some entertainers confess the truth
that they got surgeries. Well, these days, some entertainers
started to say truthful things, because if they said the truth, then
people will take entertainers as honest people. At some point,
I think it is like a gambling, because some of them got criticized
and some of them got compliment. Well, I guess it depends on
their popularity, but I really don't have any clue about that.
Anyway, the article said that the entertainment world is
about full of competition about their appearances. That's
why some of them think it is okay things to say they got surgeries,
because they think it is okay to get surgeries to win on competition.
Well, this is my second time about celebrities' plastic surgeries.
For me, I think it is important for them to take care about their
bodies and appearances but without getting surgeries. I
sometimes think it is better to put thick make up on your face,
but some people criticize about that also. OMG! it is so difficult to
say, but the way that people look people's beauty is different from
each people. So, I guess each of us needs to have a confidence in
ourselves and doesn't care about what people say.

Let's say I'm going to buy a new raptop computer. The look is important for me; color, size and weigh. But eventually I emphasize more on spec; performance, memory, storage and power. For TV stars, they themselves are "marketable products, " which meams they are urged to make their appearance good to get people's attention. But if they sing with a poor pitch or they are poor actors, do they still have "commercial value" ? I think some TV stars and some general people might need cosmetic surgery, but I hope they improve their skill of their own field (singing, acting or talking) and personalities.
ReplyDeleteI read and watched interesting article and movie.

Susan Boyle, who is a 47 years old woman, won on the British TV show Britains Got Talent. Unglamorous, unfashionable middle-aged women inspired audience and brought them and me to tears by her beautiful singing. In the article, essayist Tanya Gold in Britain's The Guardian says, "Boyle forced people to recognize how often they dismiss or ignore people because of their looks. 'Is Susan Boyle ugly? Or are we?'"
I think we are ugly. We sometimes judge people and things by their appearance and look. I heard another news that Mexican restaurant in Japan are inactive now. They are open, but no people come because people probably think that "Mexico = Swine flu." What do you think? I really felt embarrassed Japanese behavior. People may judge Mexican restaurants by recent news, or people may blame the outbreak on Mexican. Either idea is ugly. Restaurants are nothing to do with flu, aren't they? Should they change their restaurants name? In a way they might need to do that. But I don't think they need it because people will come back soon if they have been serving good meal.
Don't you have an ugly stereotype that "not pretty woman" doesn't talk intelligently, doesn't have beautiful voice, doesn't do anything well? I did before I watched this movie. Honestly speaking, Susan is not beautiful nor slim, and she has rough hair. Her look pale compared with a woman who is one of the judge on the show. But, Susan has really beautiful voice, good pitch and her song get to my heart. Now, should she get cosmetic surgery to change her appearance if she really wants to a singer? In a way she might need to do that. But I don't think she need it because she is able to get attention by her voice.
What do you think?
